Students are assessed on a continuous basis with monthly grades given out and the year is divided into two terms where comprehensive reports are given at the end of each term. The final A Level examinations are conducted by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). Taking examinations successfully demands a high level of academic competence and the features of the assessment include the following:
- AS- and A-Level examinations use a variety of assessment techniques.
- Particular emphasis is placed on the use of externally-marked examination papers.
- AS- and A-Level are based on a practical curriculum that seeks to enable students to cope successfully with the demands of higher education.
- Courses are designed to encourage students to develop an independent approach to their work.
- There are opportunities for individual research
- Compulsory Practical work and examinations in Science subjects
Students are divided into Form Groups consisting of 8-10 students with a Form Teacher so that the students get close attention and academic as well as social support. Form meetings are held once a week. Students are expected to share their experiences during Form meetings and report their difficulties and successes to the Form Teacher and give updates about academics, extra curricular and community service.
